How To Play

Virus Types

Viruses are the main component of Virus Wipeout. They vary in speed and resistance and infect Points of Interest by their infectivity amount.

While the viruses Green and Blue occur in every game mode, Purple and Orange only spawn in Hard Mode.

When arriving at a point of interest Green and Blue raise the infection-level by 1, Purple by 2 and Orange by 3.

Points of Interest

Points of interest are places, where viruses replicate themselves. Each POI assumes one of six infection-levels, where level 0 (green) means clear, and a level greater than 0 (yellow/red) means infected. The higher the infection-level, the faster new viruses spawn at the point of interest.

When a virus reaches another POI the infection-level rises and the virus disappears.

Research Points and Laboratory

During gameplay you gather one, two or three Research Points each 830 milliseconds depending on the research level of your laboratory. The research level rises from one to two when 34% research is done. It is raised a second time to three when 73% of research is done. When research reaches 100% you unlock the Airplane.

Tools

You can choose between 5 different tools to kill viruses and clear the POIs:

Mask		1 Research Point	Slows a virus down by 50%.
Vaccine		5 Research Points	Instantly kills Green and Blue viruses. Orange and Purple need multiple uses.
Disinfection Bottle		30 Research Points	Place a recharging Disinfection Bottle which kills many viruses in a specific range when used.
Lockdown		50 Research Points	Clear a point of interest from all infections. The POI is closed for 10 seconds before it is vulnerable again.
Airplane		Requires 100% Research	The airplane instantly damages all existing viruses. The Airplane takes time to recharge.

Crates

During gameplay three different types of bonus crates can appear for a short amount of time. You get rewarded by clicking on them before they disappear.

Winning the Game

You win the game by killing all existing viruses and clearing all points of interest.

The game is lost when all points of interest reach a level 5 infection.

Game Modes

There are multiple combinable game modes you can choose: Hard Mode and Random Outbreak

Hard Mode

In Hard Mode there is a second infected level 2 point of interest. There are two more types of viruses: Purple and Orange.

Random Outbreak

In Random Outbreak Mode the infected point(s) of interest are/is randomly chosen.

Important: Difficulty may differ by different POI placements.
